The huge success of the banners project has inspired us to take revamping the city centre one step further.

Roller Vision, the award-winning company charged with the implementation of the project, have done extensive work in this area and are highly skilled in their field. From the point of view of Roller Vision, their custom displays not only brighten up the actual shutters but can also increase income for the business by reinforcing the shop itself or brands carried within the shop.

Austins Department Store and Supervalu have been chosen as the test cases for this project. It was thought that due to the central and busy locations of both these sites, exposure for, and to, the shutters would be maximised. In undertaking this project, City Centre Initiative is hoping to dispel the bleak environment that descends upon the city when the shops are closed.

The shutters will not only visually brighten up the city centre but will provide an interesting talking point on an innovative idea for the city. The hope is that when the other traders see what a constructive impact this project has on the physical environment, and learn about the resultant positive economic contribution it generates, they will all want to take part.
