The Shops (Sunday Trading) Northern Ireland Order 1997
The Regulatory Services Division keeps a record of all large shops above 280sq. metres. These shops are only allowed to open on a Sunday from 1pm–6pm. They must also be closed on Easter Sunday (8th April) and Christmas Day (if it falls on a Sunday). Some large shops are exempt from the Order. These include:
– Motor cycle supplies and accessories
– Cycle supplies and accessories
– A registered pharmacy
– A petrol filling station
– A shop at an airport, port or railway station
